Hervey Bay is a mix of two very different eras. There are older character homes throughout suburbs like Scarness, Torquay and Kawungan with plumbing that’s had decades to show its age, and newer builds across areas like Wondunna and Eli Waters that come with a different set of issues, pressure fluctuations, water quality, and sometimes rushed installation work. We work across both ends of that mix, and being this close to the coast brings its own factor too such as salt air corrosion.
Common plumbing issues we see across Hervey Bay:
- Ageing pipework in older suburbs: Homes throughout Scarness, Torquay, Kawungan and Point Vernon often have original pipework reaching the end of its working life, similar to what we see across Maryborough.
- New-build issues: Growth suburbs like Wondunna and Eli Waters can bring varying water pressure, water hammer, and plumbing fitted quickly during the initial build.
- Blocked drains and tree roots: Blocked drains can be a result of negligent installation or ground movement. We clear blockages using high-pressure jet blasting and CCTV inspection, and treat recurring tree root intrusion with Vaporooter where needed.
- Hidden leaks: Thermal imaging, acoustic and hydrogen detection locate leaks under slabs, behind walls or underground without unnecessary digging.
- Coastal wear on fittings: Properties closer to the foreshore see faster deterioration on outdoor taps, brackets and older flexible hoses due to salt air exposure.
